Chevy Discount is for real...I got a ZL1 on the cheap
Merry Christmas everyone. The last time I posted was Aug 8, 2011. It’s good to see this site is still thriving…
Onto more exciting business… Last Saturday, I traded in my paid-off 2010 IOM 2SS/RS and purchased a 2015 Triple Black, fully loaded ZL1 on the 20% discount announcement. Its got the Recaro seats and Nav. I bought it @Heritage Chevrolet Buick in Owings Mills, MD. The price they gave me was $49,300 on a $62,315 sticker. The Chevy discount IS FOR REAL. I was really lucky in that I was calling around the Washington DC area for a ZL1 and found one at Pohanka Chevy in Chantilly, VA. But that was short-lived as the salesman at Pohanka gave me the bad news that it was already sold as soon as I arrived  . This particular ZL1 didn’t have the Recaro seat so it wasn't meant to be and perhaps a sign for me to find the right one. Indeed Heritage Chevrolet was the place.The next day, I drove about an hour to Owings, Mills spending some last moments with my IOM SS knowing full well that I was going to drive away with a different car. About 4 hours of waiting and signing papers ( the dealership was rather busy that day because of the discounts ) I took delivery of a ZL1  and like someone else said on another post…I felt like I was stealing.As I was getting ready to leave the dealership there were about 3 calls to come and buy the car. Christmas has been great to me. I’m extremely lucky. Now I’m off to read up on every detail that this beast of machine has as well as the welcome videos posted on Camaro5. In a couple of days, I will get a clearbra installed for the complete front part of the car, rocker panels and both doors. Gotta protect this investment if I'm gonna track this beauty. Congrats on the car and the deal.
Love the sinister look of the triple black ZL1. Your challenge will be keeping that black finish clean.

Beautiful!! Great deal!! I also took advantage and got me a 1SS/M6 that I actually test drove for the weekend way back in the summer. I already had all the radio presets set up.

.....just a FYI as I was expecting to see a ragtop - usually triple black is used as a reference to all black convertibles (black top, interior, & body).

Congratulations! Ironically, I was in the early stages of dealing with Heritage on that very car when my local dealer got in the one I bought! I was dealing with Calvin and Michael at Heritage.
It's a small world! My local dealer is only 25 minutes away while Heritage was HOURS away in Maryland (I'm in nw Ohio) but they had the car. I was thrilled when my dealer got theirs in - which is now mine! Good for you and enjoy the beast.
