I'm riding in the boat of "don't care". I have my car, have moded it to my liking, and have quit a few more years of permagrin to enjoy before even thinking about trading or purchasing a new one.
I do think they will take a hit, everyone wants "new and latest and greatest". And the 'general' public does not do research into what models are available. |

It won't be as big a hit as your car took the day you drove it off the lot.

Cars depreciate for 20-25 years, then the nice ones that remain start to climb in value. This is true of almost any car, but how much they climb depends on desirability and Camaro's have never had an issue in that department.

Yep, same here. The value to me isn't going to change any because I have the car I want. Values only really matter when you buy or sell and I'm not doing either anytime soon. Drive it and enjoy it!

Since mine is a '13 1LS and I drive it for work everyday I do not think resale will be much of an issue since I have almost 60k on her now and intend on driving her till the wheels fall off. I really like what I bought and have no illusion it is anything but a nice business coupe. Haters can hate and resale really only counts to get a deal done. I wish they would hold a higher value but the success of this generation of Camaro will likely keep resale values down.

I inquired on a used '14 no a/c black Z28 today, and I thought the salesman was my new best friend by the time we were done talking.

The 6th Gen is a nice car, but it looks a whole lot like our 5th Gens. That's going to help our resale value. Most people won't really know the difference. It'll be the same as the used market with the new Mustang. Unless you are really into cars, it's hard to tell which one is the newest. Condition, options and mileage will mean almost as much as model year.

our cars have proper suspension unlike the previous mustangs...those are dropping in value already..
ours has irs so dont think they will ever end up worthless..those s197's have been exposed as silly now the new model has come along.. if the new camaro is way better to drive it could affect the 5's value. lads there's always something faster lighter better looking that comes along.. just chill and enjoy what you have c6 vettes are still holding great money..camaros corvettes mustangs will hold value better then most other cars.. imagine buying a new audi rs6 for 160 000 usd then 2 years later it's worth half that if your lucky |
