It was said they want to get the car out with the Verts maybe even earlier. But Gm fully expects to have a Z28 on the streets by mid 2011.They also talked about the new Silverados with their new frames and design. Also the meeting confirmed the new Vette to be due out in 2013 (60th Anniversary) as a 2014 model and they also confirmed the new platform for the 6th Gen Camaro. The 6th Gen is probably gonig to be out 2014 as a 2015 model from what they were told but GM didn't go into to much detail on the 6th Gen. But, it looks like our Z28 is real and is right around the corner!

I trust my dealer and I know the owner for over 15 years and know he wouldn't lie to me. The times and dates are subject to change he told me, but he said a Z28 is no doubt confirmed and is being planned for a 2011 launch as a 2012 model.
I believe that the Z28 is definitely coming, everything seems to be pointing in that direction. I trust that your guy is right and the Z28 will have the LSA engine. I am sure that Ford is trying to find out what Chevy is going bring out and Chevy is doing the same thing with Ford. Unfortunately the people actually buying the cars will be the last ones to find out anything for sure. Thanks for keeping us updated.

smaller engines with FI and DI from the factory are the way of the future for automobiles. just the way things are.

I don't know why. There is not a lot of sales for this car already. Personally, I like the car. Look at the price of the SRT8. For that kind of money it should already have the viper engine in it. Who know, the lack of sales will probably make this car a collector's item.

.

I was at the dealership yesterday. The Black 2SS I test drove was Sweet, but I REALLY want that Z28.

When they can be ordered, I will have been in line for about half an hour, with a fat down payment check in hand. I'll reserve the happy dance for when I find out the delivery date.

I just hope they remembered my functional hood scoop.

the smaller engines are mainly due to the fact they will have DI. smaller displacement more power due to the fact it's direct injection. why keep them at 6.2 or go bigger if power is going to increase?

wouldn't that be a challenger not powered at all anymore? since there is no viper. . .

Well now, I just talk to my neighbor. He is an engineer at GM. And he was part of the team that developed the 2010 camaro. (I won't name him) He likes to walk his dog every evening and stops by to chat about my 2SS every now and again... He loves the car and knows how much I love it too. As he was always skeptical about commiting to answering this question. Is there gonna be a Z-28? Well, he finally cracked and admitted, YES! there will be a 2012 Z-28 Camaro... He's an honest, straight up guy and I believe his words completely. Although, I didn't inquire about an actual release date. I'm so freak'in excited, after talking with him. I came straight inside and logged on, Just to relay the great news... (I'm 52 and I don't get excited about to many thing anymore) Except for my 2SS LS3 RJT. I really love it. (more than my vette) But, I originally wanted a Z-28 when I orderd my 2SS last year. So, I WILL be selling or trading in my 2010 2SS for the Z-28. Damn, I'm so excited... I feel like a teenager again. Honey, break out the champagne. Our world is gonna rock tonight...
