There was a Guy I met in Yellowstone who drove a Z06 and his trip was about 2200 miles round trip and he had no complaints. I think the Z28 will be just fine. If I wanted a car that just drove on a track really fast, there are Drag cars in my local Auto Trader for about 1/5 the price what a Z/28 will be that can go just as fast, if not faster. |

I think the Z/28 would be great @$45,000. My 2SS with Ground FX was stickered @ $39,000=/- $400. I didn't pay that much, but still..I could never put suspension and a SC nor a TC for less than $50,000.
In GM's statements, they said it would be competitive, and below the vette. You can get vettes in the low $50's, so I don't see the Z/28 being in the $50's.

with the price and performance of the camaro approaching corvette territory (you can get a corvette NEW at 39k base mid 40's well equipped, and used z06's in the 50k region), now is the time to let the camaro have that segment and bump the vette up to compete more directly with the stuff coming out of Europe. world class interior and materials and bump up the price to make it more exclusive. It would bring more weight to the name and the brand.

Well...this just means that the corvette is getting a new engine MORE POWERFUL and will be more expensive than it is now by about 5K.

Nothing touches the ZR1 as far as price and performance. I doubt anything new in the motor department. They need to improve interior like the previous post

I'm going to go with a supercharged V8, 600hp, starting $42k.

Hmmmmm
Pricing. Let's all think about this for a bit. Start off at 35k. The price of the LSA engine alone is 10-12k. (On my phone, will check that later). So that right there puts the price in the 46-48k range. We are obviously not just adding an engine. So lets subtract the price of the LS3 and L99. Thats about 7k. That drops us back down to the 39-41k range. Add price for a few body changes, badging, marketing....etc. all the other stuff involved in adding a new model to a body line. Its safe to say pricing will be around 44-46k? Just wishful thinking though......... |

One of the biggest questions I have is.... Is it going to be a stripped model luxury wise? I could lose some creature comforts and be very happy.... and lighter
Hmmmm only time will tell! |
