It don't take long but since a miss adjusted TV cable can trash a trans within a block, best to pay what ever so you can blame them if you need the trans rebuilt when done

if you drive it there to get it fixed, the "driving fine before" story wont work when you drive it into the shop to get work done lol

no you need to learn about the cars you own.
Id bet money the mileage on the tsi would of told you the timing belt was gong to be a crap shoot and would of been the first thing you should of serviced when bought. Same with your TV cable, should of known better then to just zip tie it and drive around. not trying to be rude but you need to only buy new cars, where you only need to know where the gas goes in and it will last a long while without needing to know anything about it |

my tsi had 120k yea but it was real loose and i was going to replace when i got the money to do so, the tsi, the 4g63 is the only engine i could really look at and not be confused lol, and i didnt zip tie and drive around i zip tied it to get it home and that was it and as far as new cars i dont have the money witch is why im buying cheap used cars
and what i need to do is buy cars and have money to fix what need to be fix and by a car that i know very well but i just got off the phone with the shop and they said when they took the cable off the hook in the tranny was not connected to the cable, and there saying they have to drop the pan in order to get the hook out, is that really what they have to do |

never done one on a 700R so I don't know, on TH350 it can be done.
If they drop the pan, better change the filter too. course they will probably say ohh look at all this junk in the bottom of the pan, you need a $2000 rebuild. Cause your already sucker bait needing them to change the cable. |

yea they said he would have to drop the pan change the gasket and filter
the reason im having them do the cable is because i dont have what i need to do it, i dont this drive train at all and im not going to risk it on something like the tranny. when i drove there it shifted into 2nd gear, so wouldnt that of ment that the hook was attatched to the cable? |

Dunno about the cable and what it all does in a 700R don't like em, they work good then don't and cost $$$$
Also if the trans has more then 70,000 miles on it and this is the first time the fliter and fluid had been changed. good chance ita going to go bad as the fresh fluid losens junk in the system. |

I just got my car diagnosed 2 weeks ago by transmission professionals.
they told me it was my TV cable that was the problem. I asked how much they wanted to get it replaced an they quoted me $400. took it to my mechanic and asked him how much he'd charge to replace the cord and inspect the engine for overheating. $116 later, my car runs fine - and the "overheating" I thought was occurring was due to a bad cluster gauge reading. bought rotors and pads yesterday - having them installed tomorrow for approx $150. I'm super excited!! '87 Iroc-Z, 5.7L, ttops and all auto. ~
