So red isn't illegal and since it came from the factory like that you can't say otherwise and it's pretty easy to tell whats aftermark and whats not on a car.
While laws do vary from state to state. I can assure you in Texas that RED is illegal. It has been debated to death on other threads. You can search if you'd like. It didn't come fromt he factory that way either. It is obviously defective. The factory only ships out white because all other colors with the exception of amber are illegal. If it was legal wouldn't you think the factory would give you a choice. There's a reason red and blue aren't also offered. Do your research.

Red is most certainly illegal in New York- flashing, strobing, or otherwise. I would tend to agree that it looks like a ballast problem rather than the LEDs actually being red.

Oh, by the way, for those telling him to take it to a dealer, ummmmmmm, RPO_Z28 is a dealer.

Did you not read my other post. Mistakes happen in the factory and what I'm saying is that it looks like they used a Halo light from the Camaro Black concept. Geezzz mistakes do happen its no different then the people who have ordered IO accent and receive the blue ABL lighting around their dash. Like I said I think someone put the wrong Halo light into it. no biggie.

See Trent reason why I say it looks like the red halo is because I saw that concept car at the auto show and the lights were that exact same lighting and wasn't very bright. Thats why I think its a mess up.

Mess up or not, it's not legal. Red lights are not to be seen from the front of any non emergency vehicle. They allow some leeway with blue, but red is a definite no no.

To OP, see if when they swap out the headlight you can keep the red one.

Tried this to no avail.

It is not a serviceable part and trying to get one off the line means one of you guys is S.O.L.

Being that it is NOT a headlamp, I'm sure it is not a legal issue. In fact, if both were red I don't think that's a problem with the LEO's. Now, red HID's would be a problem.

Remember from the original post, GM parts cannot furnish a new one just yet and tech. assistance really is offering no real advice.

Looks like a mild case of conjunctivitis. I would make sure it doesn't rub its other halo and don't touch your eyes after touching it. Put some of this on it too. Should be cleared up in a week.
