Yes, that is a big character right in there... and yes -

Cool stuff with the 4L80E though. Time to hit the track and see what that bad boy will do now. What stall converter?

Converter

It is a Circle D Billet multidisk. Right know with current power it will be around 3200 to 3400, with future plans it will stall to about 3800. The one that is in my car is a 3800 stall but my car makes more power right now. The beauty of this stall is we will lock the converter in 2nd gear and all the way through the 1/4 mile. I picked up .3 tenths and 7 mph on my car by locking the converter. I have been beating mine to death for 2 years and no problems.

Later
Owen

Cool stuff. Thanks for the info. We used a 3500 in the SST. I have full computer control over the tranny/converter so that is great to hear that you have never had any problems locking the converter from 2nd all the way up. As a bonus it should also keep the temp down a little since you are not slipping. Are you running a trans brake?

Kyle - you are going to have Sooooooo much fun with your car...

I am pretty stoked.

I believe.. and I could be wrong.. i often mishear or misunderstand, but thought Owen said that because of the Full Manual Valve Body, the Trans brake will not work, or will not be ideal?

Also, with that motor's power and the few stock pieces in my suspension it may be too harsh.

but then again... I cant say for sure

.

No trans brake, but the suspension would unload on these cars with the transbrake anyway. We have to come out a little slower than the early cars (1,2,3,4 gen solid axles) Kyle car should run some good numbers at the track with the trans, and some other goodies we are adding. Then its F1 time and I will have to step up my game on my car to stay ahead of Mr. Gilmour.
