True Fire Custom Painting
I am looking forCamaro's with True Fire Custom Painting.
I was drawing out designs of flames to put on my 2010 Camaro & using cut outs to see what they would look like on the car. I was going to put Rally stripes on hood & trunk with flames down the side but was having a hard time making a decision. I was trying traditional Hot Rod style & Ghost Flame designs but still couldn't make a choice that would really stand out from any other cars. I didn't want to drive down the road & see another car that looked like mine. I've got a rare 69 GMC (only 300 made) that I have had for 21 years & I am doing a total restoration including new interior. When I talked to the painter about my Camaro he showed me some pictures of the "True Fire" design. We used some white Camaro pics that I got from Camaro5.com owners garages & drew in the designs that I would like to use on my car, then selected some colors that were close to the Inferno Orange interior trim & less of the yellow. The True Fire design can actually be any color you choose, from mild to a bold look. My car is not completed yet, but I have some in progress pics here. Would like to see if there are any more out there & just hope they are not close to where I live! so if you like this too just dont be around the Cincinnati, Ohio metro area please.... with one that looks like mine. lol A few sites to look at other street rods with True Fire paint. http://www.adrcracing.com/TrueFire.html http://www.chuckbauman.com/true-fire-flames.htm Last edited by contractor357; 06-16-2010 at 04:42 AM. |

I could not vote. There was no "all of the above". I've seen several versions of flames and they all looked very nice.
The flames in your pics look very nice. The only bad flames were not due to the style but more to the process.

Perhaps I'll be a small minority here, but I think the best flames on a Camaro are "No Flames"
You didn't have that as a choice. |

I vote "real"
Those are probably the best lookin' flames I've seen. Looks very "real". Detail is awesome. Nice job!

Everybody tries to copy Mike Lavallee, and that's exactly what it ends up looking like. An attempt to copy him. Those red flames are really poorly done in my opinion. Try killerpaint.com to see what they should look like. Do a google search for Ian Ziering's black Camaro Lavallee did. Those flames work because they did them as stripes, and Foose and Lavallee designed them to work with the lines of the car.
