I love the price of the BMR but how does it hold up against the Pedders bushing?

Most polyurethane companies pour their polyurethane into molds while only some use injection molding, a much more expensive process. There is no manufacturer on this forum offering injection molded cradle (subframe) bushings so that's not the reason for the price difference. Compound is subjective. Nobody will tell you what poly blend they are using but everyone says theirs is the best. In the end, all polyurethanes are resistant to oil, gasoline and other petroleum based products, as well as acids and alkalies. They have more durable qualities than standard rubber bushings, while allowing the same types of flex and load stresses. This is the nature of polyurethane. You can introduce other components into the mixture such as Teflon or other lubricating materials but in the end, the cost of the polyurethane itself is rarely the main expense of the end product. Durometer. We rate our bushings at 75 durometer. This determines how resistant to flex the bushing is. The higher the number, the stiffer the bushing. Changing the durometer of the bushing has no influence on its cost. The largest contributing factor to the price difference is transportation costs and duty fees. Our bushings are made in the USA while the others come from overseas. Is this worth $200 to you? |

Not knocking craddle or differential bushings at all.....sounds like they are necessary and I will probably end up with both the bushings and the Hotchkis brace at some point.
However....just so that your a informed of your options take a look at this thread. You might be intrested in the brace before bushings....then again maybe not but at least you'll know your options. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144406
