Hey Caverman, I run them on 18" Corvette wheels when I go to the track. I like them. I don't sit there and heat them up alot. I have a 1.77 60 ft and ran 12.5 with just headers, cai and tune. 404 rwhp with a stick.

I wonder if the 18" vs 20" is what's making the difference of you hooking with a manual trans.

Nice 60' BTW....that's the kind of 60' and times I'm looking for. Can't do it on Perellis though.

Yep I think with me doing it enough and learning my car I can get that just a little better. The 18's are changing the gear just a little.

Keep practicing...don't murder the clutch...but try to ride it out FAST from 3700-3800 RPM...your short time will drop.

That's right where I am on them on 20's.

My best 60' is 1.70...but I had a crappy run that time...my best ET's are 12.50's with 1.75-1.79 60's on NT555R 275/40/20's on the stock wheels.

I drive them rain or shine, and haven't had any problems at all...cruise control at 75 mph in the rain, car is easy to drive...they hook better from a stop than the Pirelli's did rain or shine too...I do NOT like how they feel when I push the car hard in a turn though...I think next go around I'll put summer only tires on the 20's, and pickup a second set of wheels/sneakers for the back for a drag setup...and I'll probably step it down to 18's when I do.

EDIT: The offset is +53 if you want 18x10.5 wheels

The price for 4 18x9.5 z06 replicas is pretty good here. Not sure if the price per wheel goes up if you only order 2...ask mlee what the offset is you need to order...I think its 40 on these..

All those are the wrong offsets.

EDIT: I'm sorry SUX2BU, you are correct, it's the 18x10.5 that should be ordered in +53 offset. The 18x9.5 are +40

LINK to thread for reference

I realize for most wheels they are but what mlee told me before was that they were weird offsets but fit perfect. Maybe he'll come back on here and confirm. I just know that the offsets are different from any camaro wheel sold on here

Wheel Replica is where I got my pricing from. When I talked to them on the phone he said thier website is really outdated and those prices are no longer available.

About a month ago I was quoted $360 for two but just two days ago they told me $375. That's wheels + tax (we're both in TX) + shipping.

Then I'm looking at about $610 for tires to my door. Then probably $30-$40 to mount and balance. Basically $1,000 to do it all.

10.5x18 40mm offset

I was trolling Ebay and found a set up for you! As cheap as $783 shipped for a nice set up. If I could do it all over again, this is what I would run instead of paying almost this much just for my two rear wheels.

18x9.5 OEM GM Grand Sport wheels: $260 SHIPPED!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Refinished-1...item1e69eef06f

Since you want giant tires: 305/45 18 (28.9"tall) NT05R $524.40 shipped.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-NEW-305-45...sories&vxp=mtr

I would run these: 265/40 18 (26.5" tall) MT :$566 shipped
http://www.ebay.com/itm/265-40-18-MI...sories&vxp=mtr

Or these are a good middle ground: 275/45 18 (28" tall) M&H$ 523.02 shipped

Thanks for the tip! "Heavy scratches, dings, or nicks" makes me a little hesitant though

For drag wheels I wouldn't care how they look.

NT555R's are great all around tires! They do hook with a decent burnout. I would still do the gears an use 20 inch drs until you can afford all 4 wheels. What I will eventually do is break down and get a set of 17 inch weld rt-s wheels. If you want a smaller tire combo for drag racing then do it right, if you only plan on visiting the track once a month then keep the stock wheels. I have had skinnies on every car except this one, only bc I like these wheels and the way the car handles with them. The only thing I don't like is how they feel whe accelerating out of a corner but they are not designed to do that!! Get the gears you'll be happy you did!!

I want to put TSW Nurburbrings on NT555rs...I wanted a 19" setup and I heard that 18" isn't possible with the Brembos but it looks like NT555rs don't come in 19" so I'll have to go 20"..

Where's the best place to buy these tires and also the rims? eBay?
