Mesh coming out of my muffler

I just noticed a steel looking mesh coming out of my exhaust, what is this? And how can I fix it?

You still under warranty they will replace the entire exhaust. Its the packing in the muffler, I replaced mine at 4200 miles and I have 10,000 and it hasn't failed again yet. Common problem..

Is this covered under powertrain or bumper to bumper?

Pull the solenoid fuse and you won't even use the mufflers.

Warranty fixable item. It happened on my previous ZL1.

Update:
Just left dealer and they said not to worry about it unless check engine light was on. Service advisor talked with shop foreman and he said he never heard of anything like this. If anyone has a TSB please forward/post it. If not I'm going to keep monitoring it.

Hi patrickt24,

I am sorry to hear your Camaro is experiencing a muffler concern. I see that you are going to reach out to your dealership to schedule a service visit, but we are always happy to provide an additional layer of support. If interested, please send us a private message with your VIN, mileage, full contact information and preferred dealership.

If too much comes out you will begin to hear a tinny sound or slight rattle with higher revs. If the dealer never heard of it they didn't bother to check with GM support, but they are already offering you help on the thread so you are good to go..
