Lingenfelter GT 12 Cam question

Hey all,

I'm going to cam my camaro and eventually get a supercharger maybe a year or 2 down the road. Ideally I'm looking for a good cam for a summer DD. I have a LS3 M6 with kooks lt's, hi flow cats, magnaflow CB, dyno tuned and a k&n cai. (I will be changing that to a CAI) I would like to get to 450 to 470 rwhp.

I've been researching and reading about all the great options the vendors have here but my choice has to be inclusive of a good local tuner that I can work with.

After talking with a local trusted tuner he suggested the Lingenfelter GT 12 cam. They have installed many of the lingenfelter cams. The specs as per their web site is 227/235 .614/.621 W1.7 115 CL. It is made for FI but I wont be going FI for another year or 2.

I guess my questions are:

1. What are your thoughts on this cam with my set up and future plans?

2. If I'm not going FI now will this cam not be used to its fullest potential?

3. Is it safe to use this type of cam even though I'm not going FI for a while?

Thanks!

1. Sounds good on paper as a fi cam never had experience with this cam though
2.when they call a can f.I it just means it is designed for f.I but it can easily be used as an n/a cam will you be leaving some on the table of course an f.I cam is not going to be as aggressive as a full all out n/a cam
3.like I said in number 2 it is perfectly safe to run a f.I cam on your application

That's what I'm going to do I'm even going n/a cr then when I'm ready to go f.I I'll switch my heads and camshaft to something more boost friendly. A camshaft is only 300 dlls anyway bud you'll already have all the other valve train supporting mods so that won't be needed just my .02

I did think of doing that but since I cannot perform the install myself I thought I would save some labour costs in the long run.

Practice swapping cams in old blocks? That's the worst idea I've ever heard. Being that you blew up your engine maybe you should hold off on the advice giving till you get a little more experience. Sorry if I offend but I'm not gonna sugar coat it.

Considering the expense of labor and the cam itself the OP will be doing just fine with the cam listed before going Forced induction.

He'll notice a large increase in power with the cam and you'll be able to hear it at idle (seems to be the main reason for getting a cam on this board). That cam will have nice driveability too.

Lol I love how ignorant you are in case you didn't know my engine blew cause of tuning faults which I didn't do my own tuning of course so before you open your pie hole get your facts straightened out.

Turbo, centri, roots blowers...all spec different cam profiles. Know that direction as well.

That may be true but I've seen a lot of high horsepower turbo cars lately with LS9 cams. Traditionally turbos spec cams had reverse splits or were straight up intake and exhaust But here they are running them with a 19* split favoring the exhaust.

Hate to ruin the thread with banter cause I'm not a post whore dip shit that runs my car at the track when it has issues and blows it up.
