GT14 FI Cam thoughts

I am taking the camaro in to get cammed. I already have a maggy blower, rotofab, headers, cats, cb system and dyno tuned. I'm shooting for 600rwhp. My shop recommends the LPE GT14 cam. Specs are 223/235 .610/.620 W 1.7 ROCKER 115.0 CL. We have 94 octane but all the gas we have has ethanol in it. Shell has 91 with no ethanol so that's what I run in the tank.

I did some searching around but could find a lot of info on the GT14 cam. What are your thoughts on this cam

Hard to believe there has been no response to this..... Thought this was a fairly popular cam. Try talking to wild1le or meeSSohappy, I believe they both run this cam. The shop your using seems to like it.

Thanks Johnny. I thought some more folks have this cam but I guess not. I'll shoot those guys a message and see what they think. I know wild1le likes it.

Car is in the shop this week so I guess I can share my thoughts in case anyone cares to look at this cam. I found out that it's very similar to the JRE rough idle cam.

Trying to decide which one I'm going with. Hope you enjoy it. Maybe I will call Steve and see what he thinks

I personally like that cam and Steven with the Yellow 1LE also runs the gt-14 cam.

I'm using a 224/234 116+2 in my LS3 with Heartbeat, bolt ons, and 9.5 psi. It's a cam of my own design. Basically a very similar cam using Comp's LXL lobes vs the more aggressive LSL lobes used on the GT14 cam. My rig did 664 at the wheels using it. Sounds good with very few negative driving/manners issues. Peaked right at 6500 rpm with a very broad torque curve.

Thanks for the feedback! I pretty happy with the cam and blower set up now. I'm only at 6.5 pounds of boost on the stock SS fuel pump, the maggy injectors and other bolt on's and came in just under 600 rwhp and about 555 rwtq on 91 octane. I quite like the cam and the choppy idle it has. I know there are others that have more power but I like this one.

I bet your fuel pressure is going down at high rpm. 600 RWHP is a lot for just a stock pump. Get a ZL1 pump or at least a bap.

I know but the shop swears the stock SS pump is good to around 640 rwhp

I think the pump will hold, to a degree. But I have to agree that it will drop at the high rpm's, so your losing at some point. Get a ZL1 pump with a ADM FPCM, and no worries. But Steve knows your car, so maybe all is good. But if you are going to want anymore out for your car, you will have to go bigger pump for sure.

By the way rob, I loooove your wheels! Anytime you wanna trade I'm ready!
