Zl1 pump max?

I have a zl1 pump unlocked and running on my boosted/cam 2010ss set up .
My tuner claims there’s no need for a BAP just larger injectors as my 65# were maxed at 646whp. I have the injectors . My question is where do these pumps max out at . Goal is 750 .
Thanks guys

Add a aux pump in line with hobbs switch, or upgrade to duel pump, any thing pass what u have now is risky

It depends on your injector size.

My friend is running a Procharger P1sc stage 2, cam, exhaust, e85, ZL1 pump, KB BAP, and ID1300x2 injectors. He makes 745whp on his tuners dyno.

I log his car occasionally to check its health, his commanded FP is 58psi, but it drops as low as 43psi. Since he has such large injectors, his tuner can tune around it.

But it is a clear sign that his pump cant keep up. If you are on 93, that will require 30% less work from the pump, depending on the size of your injectors, you might be ok.

I think you should run a BAP.

If you are logging fuel pressure I can guarantee it's dropping right now already, and the IDC is maxxed as well.

Having larger injectors lets you flow more, but does nothing for pressure. Without pressure you are just having the injectors stay open longer, driving up the IDC. Can it manage the AFR like this sometimes, yes, but it is not the ideal way to do things.

I would either add a better pump or a BAP, both for where you are at now and where you want to be at 750.

Just got back from the tuner yesterday with 160s from snake eater , the zl1 pumps’ voltage is increased and he says no need for a BAP . Yes the injectors are large for my application but I was thinking ahead . It’s tuned around the gap from 160lbs to 58psi or pressure but the car doesn’t run as smooth as I’d like . In line fuel pump is a bigger hassle than I’d like so I’m contemplating my next move. 750 just isn’t in my cards currently

Looking at gauges currently to monitor fuel pressure as well as boost . Thinking about running meth as well

Depending on what you consider a hassle, an in-line aux pump could be just the ticket.

- If you cut the floor under the rear seat to get to your fuel pump, then the aux pump would be a hassle.
- Without a hole under the rear seat, dropping the exhaust, driveshaft, and partially lowering the rear cradle, then dropping the gas tank.....now that's a hassle! I've done it twice now.

160's should give you PLENTY of room to grow!! @800rwhp, my 95# (@43.5psi) are about 70% IDC on E-85.

With 1000cc injectors on Nitrous E85 fuel pump tapped out at 600. Just what mine did. no BAP i think BAP are a waste of time.

Is the AMD FPCM needed with the ZL1 pump or can the tuner adjust the stock FPCM to do the same thing?

I think you’d be fine with a DSX auxiliary pump.

They have 2 versions.

One kicks on at 4psi boost and the other kicks on at 9psi boost.

If I recall, I had to adjust the tube for it.

With that setup you are staying 600 at the wheels or 600 at the crank ??
I am saving for a fore system dual or even a triple (depending how I will stage it.) I wanted to make sure that fuel wouldn't be an issue.
