RedJewel2SS.

I can tell you from personal experience, the paint pens from paintscratch.com are spot on for RJT. I've been able to turn my paint chips into what looks like paint defects.

The scratches on the other hand are barely noticable.

I haven't used Langka or Dr. Color chip, but I'll follow up the touch up with scratchx and/or Quixx and that appears to do the trick.

Great videos! Thanks! I have the Langka system sitting on my desk. My issue is that my front fascia has dozens and dozens of small chips ;( My gills are fairly pitted up too...I do wish I would have put the clear bra on, and then, thinking $1100 was too much! Now, I might need a repaint of the GFX & front & gills, then I'll put the clear bra on ;(

Hopefully I'll start mine soon...it will be a lot of work, especially with black.

i'm going to fix the big ones now, but wait until my move back to texas in 3 months to repair all of them cuz i bet i will collect a couple more when i move. after that, no more highways for the camaro for a few years!!!

That makes sense...and if that's the case my car will be TRASHED after this summer in Michigan. Worst..roads...ever. I grew up there but you forget how bad it is when you've been away.

a good alternative to a clear bra:

http://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=1780

its easy to install and remove and will protect the front from bugs and rocks!!!

i'll be getting this before the next time i decide to take a road trip!!!

Ryan - by the looks of it Dr Colorchip may be a quicker way of repairing the damage (I can't speak to quality). I haven't used their system, but AJ is producing a langka vs dr colorchip video.

Chips

Wow! I've got a couple of little chips on my gills, but nothing on the front like the RJT. Thanks for the videos and the information - I'll be fixing mine ASAP. And I just noticed that the 'R' & 'O' are loose on the passenger side. I'll be stopping by the dealer to ask about that!

i used the blob eliminator last night on some of the chips i filled beforehand. it worked really well, but they need more paint to fill them in better. hopefully i get them all filled in tonight along with all the others so i can use the blob eliminator tomorrow. i'm hoping to have it back to 95% by the weekend. i have a "filling" a couple of them will need 2 or even 3 coats.

That's the beauty of the Langka system. You can properly build up your chips until they are level. I did that with a gouge that I had once.

Glad your happy with it

Just remember not to wax them if your still filling them up with multiple coats.. Or if you do wax them, remove the wax with either the paint cleaner or some rubbing alcohol or the paint won't stay in the chips.

I just used this system after watching the videos. I applied virtually NO pressure after using the Langka paint prep, touch up paint and then waiting 24 hours. It immediately stripped the paint from the inside of the chip.

I even tried on a few chips I touched up last fall, and it immediately removed the paint from the inside of the chip first. It took some work afterwards to remove the outer "blob" - any suggestions? It did create some micro-marring in the paint but I assume that these will polish out easily.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

If the paint was easily removed from the chip, then the chip was not clean to begin with. If any wax or foreign substance is in the chip when you add paint, the paint will not adhere.

After washing the car, I prepped it with the Langka "Pre-paint" paint prep solution using a Q-tip - is there a better way? Should I clay the chip instead?
