richmond 411's broke again

I ripped my rear out again Friday, I was running richmond 411's I loved the gears but its about the track times from here on, so I need some info from other that are FI that have track time under there belt, im planning on running 138ish mph in a 1/4 mile with my new mods, 134mph in 4th gear was about all the car would do, my goal is to run around 138 give or take in 4th gear, im trying to decide what gear to go back with this time but I don't want to go to high, 411's I believe was hurting my mph alittle at the track because the car was crossing the line right before hitting the rev limiter. Im wanting to cross the line close to the rev limiter but not right before it hits, how much of a difference in mph would 410's be? Remember im just needing a few mph's not much at all, im afraid 391's will mess with my launching but I don't know, if someone is running around that mph in 4th gear what gear are you running? My tire o.d. is 28.8 on the rear. 410's or 391's?? Thanks!!

Don't know the difference, but Richmond states that their gears aren't designed for putting up with the abuse they'd take on a drag strip.

If you went down to 3.91s you could get the OEM 1LE gears, don't know if you'd need more gear with your setup though.

Im trying to find out what mph the 391's and 410's will do in 4th gear then I will decide what I think will be better for my set up, we will just say with stock tire size and go from there

What wheels do you have? Lighter wheels would help with your goal too btw

I don't want to run out of gear the wheels will probably help with the 391's but would still like some numbers first

A manual tranny car.If you run the same mph with either gear.
The 3.91 will lower the rpm's about 300rpm less compare to the 4.11.

There's a link in the sticky under trans/driveline about gear ratios by danner

Edit: here you go

http://f-body.org/gears/

and you'll need this:

The Gear Ratios for a TR6060 (manual) are:
1st: 3.01
2nd: 2.07
3rd: 1.43
4th: 1.00
5th: 0.84
6th: 0.57
R: 3.28

3.91 gears, trapping at 138 in 4th gear with a 28.8 inch tire you would be at around 6295 RPM

4.11 gears, trapping at 138 in 4th gear with a 28.8 inch tire you would be at around 6617 RPM

This is the math behind the whole thing, good luck.

Rear end gear ratio = (tire diameter)(rpm) / ((transmission gear ratio)(336)(mph))

Awesome. Thank you.

From this I'd do the 3.91s as you risk hitting the rev limiter with 4.10s
