It's just a popular option. Most people feel it finishes out the look of the car.

I have the RS package and I think it's worth it. Rims look better, you get the RS headlights (no need to go aftermarket), different roof molding (not really important). I think it rounds out the camaro nicely and gives you a bit of head start on modding.

Thanks what i thought. gm markup. hell the ss comes with 20s standard. so u pay all that extra for hid lites and roof molding? i like the 20s but its the tires i dont like. the hid are cool but not necessary. but found a dealer who would put generals on and even exchange. but still need to deal first and frustrating process

Why do they sell so many? Because its a great aesthetics package. I think the RS cars with the HIDs and halos make the car stand apart from the regular halogens. I also think halogens are severally outdated and shouldn't be an option in the year 2014. As for hte 20", you need them (IMO) to fit the size of the car.

As for markup, who cares? They charge what they can get for it and people like it.

I always find it funny that people who don't even own a camaro come and criticize the car.

Because the headlights make the car look a billion times better. The rest of the package is good along with it.

We also dont have winter in Louisiana so I never really thought of the tire thing

I have been under the impression that generally the RS package is just better wheels and the expensive light package. I wasn't sure there was anything else at all, but I could be wrong.

For me it would come down to the wheel package, if you are OK with the wheels on the non RS I would go for the non RS. I could care less about that expensive light package personally

A couple of things.

One - the 2LT without RS does not come with 20 inch wheels and tires - -it comes with 19s.....

Two - the RS sells well because that's what people buy. That's what a lot of people want. In fact, when we forecast the RS package, we severely underestimated the 'take rate' -- and had to renegotiate for additional materials - which raised the cost of tooling.

Three - we do make money on the RS. That's actually a good thing for a couple of reasons - 1. -- our stockholders expect a return on their investment -- and 2. -- if we don't make money, there isn't a 'next gen'.....

Only the garage queens hide from the snow up here and that makes up 80% of the camaro population up here if not more.
