thats actually pretty good on street tires i think a 1.9 or 1.8 is the best yet on street tires with full tire pressure

Here's the official list. This should give you a good idea of what's possible:

DR would make you more consistent and you could leave harder.

a DR will definately help with the spinning problem, but IMHO, you won't get the full benefits of a DR until you master your launch and get the full potential of your street tires. It may not be just you. It could be poor track prep. My best 60' stock car was a 1.87, and now with a SC, its 1.77.

Keep practicing your launch technique.
Here's a great tutorial on launching a manual car.

This is very true, that's one thing that keeps me from getting tires. This is my first time racing a stick car, my best 60 was 1.91 and 12.60 last year with just headers. I was able to run close to it a few times. Now that I did the cam and tune my 60s are terrible, I went twice and both times my launching was so inconsistent I feel like tire will only be a bandade to my launching right now. I am going back soon to get some good weather runs, and hope to get some 1.90s again. Then put tires on and really run some good times, but having tires and running poor times would be pretty lame!

2.0 with a V6 on the stock pirellis son! The power is admittedly more manageable but I bet I could do better with a V8.
