VERY LOUD POP FROM REAR END

after my car has sat for a few days. i go to back out and theres a very loud pop coming from the rear end.its done this several times

backfire? take it to dealer if its happening frequently, they should be able to tune it out easily.

is there any shudder or feeling inside the car when it makes the noise?

There is another thread on popping sound from rearends. But these were more like the "old car in bicycle spokes" sound. Mine does this first thing in the a.m. backing down my unlevel driveway

That is exactly it my friend nothing to get exited about. Mine has alway done it if it sits for a couple or more days and it has rained.

^ no it wouldent be that it, one of the major things that it could be is your rear differential, it could also be your suspension being torqued.

Also your parking brake might be locking and not releasing and being forced out when you go in reverse after not driving it for awhile, check the relese springs for the parking break.

it wouldent make a loud popping noise the way he is describing it to be. That would be very minimal rust.
