not 100% fact... see http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33047

All it takes it a good launch and a race that last longer than the 1/8th mile.

I'm pretty sure that the Jeep SRT-8 is the fastest vehicle in the SRT 'Series' to date. It is one fast little truck. To bad about the horrible interior and the 1/2" fuel line :-)
the 6.1L Hemi is a potent power plant

The Jeep is quick, I'm trading my 2008 SRT8 for the Camaro SS. I don't like reading this thread knowing that I'm giving up a faster car... kindof. I believe I used to run about 13.2 in my stock Jeep, only had it at the track once or twice. Either way, off the line, its fast as hell for an SUV.

What do you guys think of a stock SRT8 vs. a Camaro SS with exhaust, intake and tune? I think you are still going to have to be able to launch the camaro almost perfectly.

I picked up my camaro 2 nights ago, I must say I'm pretty disappointed. It feels incredibly slow. I guess the Jeep is just a tough car to beat.

Did you get the A6 or M6? I have an M6 and there is no possible way you can say the car is slow...The A6 however, has had some issues w/the slows.....

It might be one of the quickest SRT8's , srtrictly off the line though. The smaller srt6 crossfire will beat it off the line. The jeep cant hang in the 1/4 with its other SRT8 counterparts stock for stock. Yeah, AWD is nice off the line. Not so good in the quarter.

Reasons i will keep my Jeep for a LONG TIME:

1. You can show up at any track, any street, anytime on STREET tires and kick ass
2. There aren't many on the road and they looks very aggressive
3. They turn heads when lightly modded ie hood, hid's, exhaust
4. The interior and MyGig 20gb hard drive are sick!...08's have black interior :-)
5. Never have to rotate tires and they last forever due to AWD
6. Awesome in the rain or snow
7. Even when lowered ground clearance is great...especially at those unseen dips
8. Look very different than regular Jeeps...no doubt about it
9. Can take turns very well and have the awd to come out quick! No spinning
10. It's a badass Jeep that amazes people......it's rare and it will never look plain

Oh and because mine run's mid 11's and i'm headed for 10's....on low boost and street tires
