Hit by under insured motorist

Was inside eating at a restaurant and a lady hit four vehicles in the parking lot (including mine). Turns out she only has state minimum insurance. (10k).

I'm forced to file this under my own and pay my $1000 deductible. I am at 0% fault.

In Bowling Green, Ky on Camarofest weekend to top it off. (I live here).

Been there, but mine was a red light runner with no insurance. Makes you just dislike people in general some days ...

You better check your policy fine print
Most policies doesn't enforce the deductible when non / under insured are at fault
Mit makes no sense , if one are not at fault , why will those $ globbers nail you for that !?
Freaking bastards never stop screwing one over , that why most of us really need no reason at all to hate the insurances companies !

That's terrible man. What's wrong with people nowadays? I had the same situation when someone hit my car when it was parked. I had a $500 deductible and I was pissed too. But I forced him to pay it because I threatened to take him to small claims court. I let him do a 2 payment plan. I would contact her and tell her to take care of this deductible or you'll take her to court, get as much money as you can and get your baby fixed. If she doesn't pay take her to court. Don't pay and let it go.

Good luck collecting on a judgment from someone both out of state, AND who can't even afford proper insurance.

Your car and 3 others in a parking lot and that much damage ? Was she road racing in the lot or driving a dump truck with a snow plow on it? Holy shit

If I had to pay the deductible for an underinsured motorist claim, I would be seriously be looking for a new insurance company.

I've never heard of this.

^^^^ Agree; my wife was hit by an uninsured motorist a few years back; not charged a deductible.

That sucks you could take her to samll claims got and you may not even need a lawyer. Most likely she does not have the money to pay you even if you win.

It was an under insured motorist, not uninsured.
You need both uninsured and under insured coverages on your policy, if you don't you have to file a claim on your regular insurance and deductible will still apply.
