As with any planning, ideas come and go...some good, some bad. I realized since I'm also planning on the Sunday drive for those that wish to join...Grand Coulee can be a part of that day instead.

We'll be stopping at the 59er Diner at about 12:30 on Saturday, and from there I'm going to do something a little off the beaten path...

http://www.roadsnw.com/rnw/120

This will get us to Leavenworth, on what looks to be a fun road called "Chumstick Road".

Also, Once we get to Wenatchee, we'll take the west side of the Columbia River.

Of note: I suggest we all fill up in Everett, so that we don't have people needing gas during the middle of this trip. I may see if I can find gas prices, to determine if it's better to fill up at Lake Chelan or closer to Winthrop (gas prices might be significantly higher there). So we'll want to make sure we have enough gas for that. A full tank will do, but a half tank might get dicey.

Lastly, though I'm planning the Route for Stephens Pass...if by some miracle the Route 20 opens, we're going that way...doubtful that will happen, but just keep that in mind

I'll try to remember to e-mail it, but I'll also be putting a link to it in this thread on the first post. I'm also considering starting a brand new thread with all the finalized information so people don't have to wade through 12 pages...when I can summarize it all in a new thread.

Last year was awesome. I think you will enjoy yourself. Dennis is putting it together nicely.

Map for gas prices might be helpful.

Chumstick Road sounds good to me. I plan on joining the trip to Republic and it would be cool to fill the ferry with Camaros on Sunday.

Chumstick looks good to me. My only concern is road conditions. The information states. "The road surface itself is typically rough and patchy". Some folks just got their cars. It would be a shame to pelt em with gravel on the first outing of the year.

On another note........

I just got my own handheld 40 channel CB. Nothing special but, I think it will get the job done.

This route will take slightly longer than route 2, and if people find it's too rough, it'll be easy enough to double back and take route 2 to Leavenworth. I talked to the lady at the 59er diner, and she said the road was not in bad shape though. I may even go scout the road out this weekend (or next weekend)...

I'm going to be asking the admins to close this thread tonight, as I'm posting the final information for the cruise in a new thread within the next 1/2 hour or so...
