Question Front Plate Mounting Options

Hello everyone, unfortunately up here in Ontario we are required to have a front license plate.

Has anyone used the hideaway mounting system on their Camaro?

I am looking at purchasing one and would like to see it mounted, and see if they have been adapted to the Camaro.

Thank you in advance.

Kelly

There are a lot of posts on this already. Search is your friend. But, yes there are many options.

A lot of discussion on how it is a great option, yet no one has mounted one on the Camaro that I have found?

Yes, it is a youtube video of the bracket mounuted on a Audi, I was asking if anyone had installed the one from "Swift" on their Camaro before I order?

Thanks,

Kelly

I would have but it sticks out further than I would like and it doesn't work with the GFX without further modifications.

So are you rolling the dice and driving without a front plate? I saw a car pulled over yesterday in Mississauga for no front plate, female officer (say no more).

Thanks,

Kelly

Well I have been warned once in a Tim Horton's drive thru by an OPP officer. At the end of the day it is $110.00 and no points. So it will take a few of those tickets before I drill holes in my front bumper. I am still looking and hope that Swift improves on their product and/or comes out with one that works with the ground effects, but till I find something that I am happy with, yes I will roll the dice.

I'm not so lucky. Good luck.

Very simple solution. Take the stock plate bracket and add two 4" sheet rock anchor screws, and two 2" vinyl washers. Simply put the two screws through the existing plate bracket holes and attach to the lower grill be means of the vinyl washers and the spring loaded anchors. Easy on and off for shows.

Hello everyone, received my manual hide away mounting bracket today. Has anyone installed this item on a 2SS? Any tips or tricks?

Thanks,

Kelly

Installed one from Swift this last weekend. Followed their directions and it went pretty smooth. I did add loc-tite to the threads for a little extra security.

So, do you drill holes into the bottom with that? Do you think there would be any issues with a 1LT since it has the smaller lower lip?
