When i was in my early teens my grandfather taught me how to change out plugs/tune ups/ oil & filter changes / change flat tires etc. I learned on my own by trial and error to swap out engines/transmissions/rear ends/ a/c evaporators/fuel pumps/water pumps etc.

That's too vague. Every US citizen can say that! How are those tax dollars going for ya?

Postie. I've learned a lot about how to work on cars thru my husband, friends, YouTube and car forums. I find there are lots of people willing to help out and show me the ropes when I find a challenge that's a bit beyond my abilities. I haven't done anything to my Camaro yet, but swapped motors in my Monte SS and learned how to do some body work and prep for paint, among the usual change of filters, oil and so on. You just have to give yourself some credit and be patient while working on cars when you feel unfamiliar or overwhelmed. We all were beginners once and confidence comes with hands on experience and practice! Good luck OP!
