Keep in mind that today's auto Camaro runs as good or better than the manuals. Just take a look at the 1/4 mile results.

We had a guy there yesterday and I finally witnessed the issue with the manuals. The clutch gets to hot after a couple passes and you need to come in and let them cool off.

DanD's pass was on his second run of the day and the air was still slightly in the negative DA's

No there was no error. Every now and then Lapeer spits out a time sheet with a faulty MPH. As scrming pointed out it has happened to just about everyone who has ever run there. I have a time slip from a previous time there in which it shows a messed up MPH.

Not really.., several mags tested the V6 in the 14.2xx range.

http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...-coupe-38.html

I did a .24 when I first got the car on a nice cool Oct evening in '09 with DA around 100.

I've been saying that about the clutch slip for a while. The new one is doing a lot better but I wish I'd been able to wait for the Spec clutch.

Funny how I just knew that comment was coming from DarkneSS. Well just to show that it wasn't a mistake I can post pics of the other time slips I have from yesterday as the DA increased. Lets see I have a 14.387, and a 14.459, and a 14.434. Just let me know if you want to see the other time slips.

Disappointing day for me and good at the same time. I ran 245/45/18 street tires and through 6 passes I just couldnt get them to hook. It was really cold out and not many cars came out today so street tires had no chance.

I'll post the slips if you guys want. The bad is I only ran 14.4, basically the same as stock.

The good/bad is that I trapped at 101.59 with a 2.5 60 foot!

Every .1 off your 60' is roughly .2 in the 1/4.

So essentially with proper tires I'll hit about a 13.45. Also at island dragway, the track I was at, cars typically run .2 tenths slower than tracks at sea level.

So although I didnt actually get a slip with the time, it seems that just with 1LT rims, lighter tires, vararam intake, and cut outs on stock exhaust My car can run about a 13.2-13.3.

Im going to go back with drag radials but unfortunately Im probably going to wait until early spring.

With radials Im sure I can cut a 1.8~ 60' which should land me right around a 13.0 MAYBE a 12.9.

This is all without headers, a tune, or the weight reduction from removing the stock exhaust.

Discuss....

everyones ripping up the track!!! im so sad my cars parked right now but i have a bunch of plans for it next year so it will be a worthwile wait

Darness , not to be rude or anything but a 1.8 60ft is pretty darn intense, with the mods you have i can understand a mid to high 13, but no where near a 12sec pass... i would love for you to prove me wrong... but there friends i know and cars i have seen with monster slicks and lots of horsepower, that hit 1.4-1.8 60fts... your going to need some serious suspension and bushings to pull that out with just a radial without smashing something up in the rear end. AGAIN, prove me a wrong and call me a doubting thomas... but i cant see it happening unless you were making some nice rwhp and atleast trailing arms.

I was at this very red neck track about 30 mins from me and when I had the stock midnight silver RS wheels their timing machines couldn't pick me up. It was saying I was running 15-16 @ like 30-40 mph..

Very nice run! Just updated your time.

You're not going to get 13.0 or 12.9 with just the basic mods you have unless you're racing at the core of the earth where you'll be 100000000 feet below sea level . I'd like for you to prove me wrong because that would be amazing. However I'm just being realistic.

Darkness.......post up the time slip. I would like to see the numbers. Track location, date and time to help run you thru the DA calculator and see what you’re doing.

As for the aggressive thinking on the track times, GOOD LUCK and prove us all wrong.

Have to echo what others have said... think your estimates are too optimistic... and as other have said, hope you can prove us wrong...

I'll just leave it at what others have said and remind you when I said ricer math doesn't work. I could say my little red neck track is typically 2 seconds slower. Time to post up the numbers. Fall and spring are going to give your best hp.

Definitely optimistic I know but just based off the numbers it is a low 13 second car, or at least it seems to be. Ill post the slips later on today.

Perhaps we'll see on Black Friday. Almost sure we'll see negative DA at least early.
