Anyone who wants a good laugh

These are some responses I have gotten from an uneducated Challenger guy on another forum. I can't believe this guy is for real. I thought you guys and gals might get a good laugh.

They built a prototype on an existing chassis, tested the buyers market for a short period of time and put the car into production. They didn't build up 7 years worth of hype for an undelivered promise as GM did with the Camaro.

The Camaro is also limited in engine choices its first year. It will(hopefully) perform better than the Mustank but the Challenger SRT8 should eat the Camaro SS(or RS or Z28 or whatever nameplate they decide to destroy) but only time will tell. This isn't a debate on the cars that might be out, but the ones that are in production and on the road. This is actually a fun thread because of the speculation and statistics. I'm about to look up the production numbers on the SS and see what I can find out.

Edit- Wow, I just got off Cheverolet's site laughing. GM doesn't even know what options they are going to offer. They want customer input on what should be offered. They are estimating engine power and projecting performance numbers because they HAVE YET to produce an actual production model. They are guessing at 422hp for the standard tranny and 400hp for the auto on the SS cars. The STR8 Challenger makes 425 with the auto tranny. We can't speculate about the price of the Camaro because we have no idea what it will be. The top dog SRT8 is 40k on the nose.

None of the test numbers you read in a magazine are close to accurate because THEY DIDN'T HAVE A REAL CAR TO TEST. If I wanted a Challenger I sure wouldn't spend 40k on a new one when I could have a real one for less. But new car vs new car the Challenger is superior and looks a million times better than the CONCEPT that GM has produced. Your SS? Really? Well seeing as how I can go to my local Dodge dealership and pick up an SRT8 while your just hoping the Camaro comes out sometime in 2010 I wouldn't consider that a fair race. My Challenger would have 40,000 miles on it before you even got a car. That is IF they actually go into production. Don't speak again until you see a Camaro on the road.

What forum if that from? GM dont have a 'real car to test'??? WHAT? I think GM is intentionally keeping specs on the camaro underwraps for a reason. For about $10K less, we'll be tearing the challenger up, and getting better mileage in a better looking car..... I do have respect for the challenger, just not this clown...

Wow, where does this guy get his information? He says that the Camaro won't be on the road until 2010?? At least he'll feel like a dumbass in early 2009!

The problem with ignorant people is just that, they are ignorant. Therefore, they do not know, nor are they aware, that they are indeed, ignorant!

Recall Summary
CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 6,636 MY 2008-2009 DODGE CHALLENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS AND "KEYLESS GO" OPTION FOR FAILING TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 114, "THEFT PREVENTION." IF THE STOP/START BUTTON IS PRESSED AND HELD AND THE ENGINE TURNS OFF, THE ELECTRONIC KEY CODE IS REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE. SINCE THIS CAN OCCUR IN A TRANSMISSION OR GEAR SELECTOR POSITION OTHER THAN "PARK," AND THE TRANSMISSION OR GEAR SELECTOR DOES NOT BECOME LOCKED IN "PARK" AS A DIRECT RESULT OF KEY REMOVAL, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A NONCOMPLIANCE MAY EXIST.

Consequence
THIS STANDARD SPECIFIES VEHICLE PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS INTENDED TO REDUCE THE INCIDENCE OF CRASHES RESULTING FROM THEFT AND ACCIDENTAL ROLLAWAY OF MOTOR VEHICLES.

Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE SO THE ENGINE CAN ONLY BE TURNED OFF WHEN THE TRANSMISSION AND GEAR SELECTOR IS IN THE "PARK" POSITION. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 15, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403

His profile says he is a fitness consultant. Here in ATL, that usually means he lives in midtown, has a sexual identity crisis and drives a VW that says "golds gym" all over it.
