I was only able to manage 2 months before I got pulled over in the Tri-Cities for not having my front plate. Couldn't bear to drill holes, so just jerry-rigged the bracket with some tie-wraps and you'd never know the difference!

We need to put pressure on our Legislators in Olympia to elminate the front license plate, Cost Saving for the State of Washington.....
Also need to flood the WSP, Equipment & Standards @ P.O. Box 42600, Olympia, WA 98504-2600 to get waivers to run w/o a front plate.

Not gonna happen. They are spending too much money on things like license plate readers that take a picture of your plate while driving down the road. Then compares with "hotlist" of stolen cars. I work with LEOs that use this technology and I was told "don't expect that law to change".

I informed these guys that I don't run a plate on my Camaro. They didn't seem to care. The only ones who will even bother will be WA SP.

It's getting colder but Hell isn't freezing over just yet. I'd love the idea but change isn't likely. I do support it for many reasons. There are other options for I.D. vech for theft: small Bar-code sticker in front. RFID tag. that could trigger an alert in the cop car. a lot of things. If you fear big brother guess what its already here but he ain't watching that close with that much crime happing, right.

Front Plates

I would start the process as soon as possible:
First I would send letters to my State Senators and Representatives and request that the Washington State Law be amened to exlude front license plates. This would amount to a cost savings and with the state budget being in the mess it is in now is the time to look for cost savings. I would also send a letter to the Governor stating the same reasons.
I do not have a front plate installed, will see what happens

when i got my car, i checked whether i needed it, cuz i reeeally didnt like how it looked. they told me no, so i took it off. then i got pulled over. he told me i needed one. i told him i asked before i took it off. he said they lied to me. so i called my uncle(who is a sheriff) and he checked for me again(i was right). i gave the phone to the cop who pulled me over. man, he looked embarrassed lol i didnt get a ticket. (now it is a law here, and i put one on, but im taking it off in the spring lol)
