weird noise from the tranny ....

So my car has been at the dealer for 2 days without the issue being resolved.
The problem that I have is when I put the car into first, do a rolling start and
I immediately push in the clutch after the car starts moving, I get a weird
clucking noise comming from the tranny. Like something is loose or there
is play between the engine and the trans. My dealer said they checked
everything and couldn't say what it is, they also called GM and they said
that it might be normal. Anyone else also have this noise or can
someone with a M6 SS see if they have it too. I've had this problem
since the first day I had it and now I have about 3k miles on it. Thanx in
advance. If you guys need more info just ask :-)

sounds normal for this tranny. I've read about it on the vette and the gt500.

Could be a loose or broken motor or trans mount. Try having someone rev the engine with the hood open and see if there is excess movement of the engine. Compare results to another car if you are not too sure. Do you have any problems with the clutch fully disengaging?

I have had the same noise from day 1. When I inquired about it, I was told that this is normal, and that the Vettes have this too.

When you consider that there are 7 joints in the drive train, each with a little slack tolerance, you will have some noise.

I am a little disappointed with this, it really sounds like crap ( IMO, not like a $40000 car should ), but i can live with it...... Solution is to make your exhaust louder, or crank up the tunes

It's normal, even happened on my 04 GTO which had a T56

It'll all depends on how you press the clutch. If you stomp on it like you are trying to kill a huge spider, then it will clunk. Start off depressing the clutch smoothly and then put it to the floor

Mine had that sound since day one. I thought something was wrong with it too but I didn't really care. I guess it's normal.

I have a 1LT and get the same sound in your scenario. They lubed up the clutch spring, but didn't really help. I still hear even if they can't. Must be normal I guess. Only happens in that scenario.

My Toyota did the same thing. It took me a while to figure out how to run thru the gears seamlessly on my Toyota. I think I just about have the Camaro figured out. I don't know if I can describe how to do it... kind of a feel for the car and timing. It is harder to do it seamlessly during slow take offs and slow downs. It seems fairly easy when driving a little more aggressively. I think I got it now though. I currently have about 500 miles on my car.

YUP Normal.. Had it looked at today.. Anyone else get a little soft backfiring noise when they are in gear and slowing down? They also said GM tuned the exhaust to do that on purpose to mimic muscle cars sounds of old. It annoys me but I can live with it..Anyone else have this "normal" sound? If not.. any ideas what might cause it?
