Exclamation need help finding new tires!

hey guys!

just passed 25000 miles on my P zeros and its time to change em. been hard to fine a new ties due to how i usually use them.i like to go drag racing alot and i use the car as my everyday car too.
i've been looking around and i went to firestone and they showed me their firehawk tires.the wide Oval AS:
XL.
106W.
A A 400(40000 miles)

thatis compared to P zero which is:
XL.
106Y.
AA A 220.

my concern is . the fire hawks are not as grippie as the P zeros. but am not satisfied with the P zero's tire wear.

is there a middleground maybe? my priority is prefemence. which is why am thinking to get the P zeros. (i'm quite aware that prefomence = short tire lifespan).

so what u guys think? also i', intersted in other type of tires( different brand) that u know of.

please help!

Call Jessie (MonsterV6) at Federal Way Discount Tires. Make sure you tell him you were referred from Camaro 5. He'll take good care of you.

Sorry, just noticed you were from Oregon.

Maybe, just maybe, your tire wear issues might be related to this:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=184537

Ours lasted 36000, and that included a few trips down the strip at Pacific Raceways.

But seriously, it depends on what size rims you're running as far as options go. With 19" rims, my options were limited. But if you're running the even numbers it seems you will have a few more brands to choose from.

Here's a thread that addressed the tire issue awhile back:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257377

Good luck; and might I suggest getting a couple extra rims and ratty tires for when you want to put on a smoke show.

Well let me be the first to say welcome Faze! Keep watching the threads here; we have Camaro get-togethers all the time. You should come out and meet us sometime! If you are on facebook, check out Western Washington 5th Gen for local events: http://www.facebook.com/groups/weste...ingtoncamaro5/
If I remember correctly, you were a student when you were down in Oregon. What are you studying, and where are you from? I'm going to take a wild guess based on your love of smoking tires, and guess UAE? Don't shoot me if I'm wrong!

As you now live in Seattle area, I'm sure you noticed that your Pirelli P-Zeros SUCK ASS in the winter around here.

I had the problem with the car getting really squirrely when the temp is below 50 and wet out on my Pirelli P-Zeros.

I went to Jesse at Discount Tire in Federal way:
31414 Pacific Highway South
Federal Way, WA 98003
(253) 946-0877

He treated me very well and gave me excellent service and price.

I wound up with BFG G-Force Comp2's and couldn't be happier. I'm sure the tires will have close to/if not equal to the P-Zero's grip in the summer. But, they are a HUGE improvement over the Pirelli's at handling the wet, rainy, winters around here. They handle standing water very well too.

(They'll still break loose in the wet weather if you are below 20mph and decide to hammer down though.)

Because I changed out my rims as well to 20x9 on all 4 corners, I ended up with 275/40/20's on all 4 corners. That added a noticeable improvement in corner stability.

My Pirellis are still pretty new, only 9500 on them. I haven't had issue too much in the rain, but I don't hammer down in the wet. The ice on the other hand....Fun stuff going around corners sideways :-)

Should have gone with my first guess. My second guess was easier to spell than Saudi Arabia.
