How does heat affect your performance?

I live in Texas, and lately it has been 105 every damn day. I drive my new ZL1 around in it, and it surely can't be runnin like it could. I attribute alot of the power drain to AC, but I'm hopin that one of you engineering gurus can give some objective info on the power changes with ambient temperature change.
How can it be overcome? Someone once mentioned that if you add a little torco to your fuel it would help. Why?

Hot air is less dense than cold air. Imagine a cubic foot of air, there is less (air) in a cubic foot of hot air than a cubic foot of cold air. More mass air flow equals more power, less equals less. As far as overcoming it, mod the car with after market crap. It was 109 here in California today.

There's a sponsor on the forum here that makes a 'superchiller' that lowers your internal air temp close to ambient. look it up, they have a couple you tube videos

Adding octane by mixing in some Torco to the fuel won't allow the car to overcome the high intake temps. As others have mentioned adding a superchiller would be the best solution followed by adding a larger heat exchanger with fans and additional coolant capacity to the system with an external reservoir.

try the rx/chiller it was the first and is still the best chiller out there. ive had mine on for about a year with no issues and my IAT's stay at least 10 - 20 degrees cooler than outside ambient temps even here in florida. in competitive mode it goes even cooler than 20 degrees.

Have you driven your ZL1 in winter temperatures yet? You can have that feeling year round with a Super Chiller; we have several installers in TX. I know first time I drove my GTO in temperatures below 50 deg I was sold and decided to do something about it!

In stock form, about how much hp is lost with every 20 degree increase in ambient temp?

I know theres 2 sides to every story and thats what happens when partnerships dissolve. I guess that's why it took him another whole year to finally get 1 ready for a car. what do you know anyway all the way out in vegas? oh that's right only what you hear on the forum.
