I'm on the lookout for a ZL1 in the coming months, could you educate me on the expensive nature of the upkeep of these cars? I know that gas mileage isn't all that great......insurance really high?

I should have clarified a little more, I consider it expensive for me solely in my current situation. Someone looking for a performance car I believe cost to maintain is rather low.
You can expect to go through tires on these quickly but they are supper grippy and agile. Gas mileage was never a concern when I purchased it because again I'm buying a supercharged V8. Insurance for me was around 82$ a month for full coverage and I'm 24yo. Hope this helps with your decision, I love the car and absolutely dont want to get rid of it, but situations arise.... |

Thanks for the info. I pay about 50/month for my 08 Mustang GT convertible and I'm 47.
Correction, it's $72.65/month. Last edited by ycats; 04-07-2016 at 02:57 PM. |

No, I think your price of is right on target. Everybody always wants the lowball price unless they are the ones selling. You also said "Asking $41K OBO", so the complainers can make you a reasonable offer if they are serious. Beautiful car, and good luck with the sale. If I had not bought my ZL1 a month ago, I would be seriously thinking about coming to take a look at yours.

Hmm I'm not familiar with how insurances asses rates vs risk etc. but I can tell you I have a clean driving record, multi-car discount, homeowners discount and a 500$ deductible. And its my own policy no others attached
I've personally always found State Farm and Geico to be great for me |

I've had State Farm for 31 years, have multicar discount, clean driving record, just got homeowners insurance for our new house this past month...of course I have a 19 year old daughter on the policy, although she's not the primary driver for my Mustang.
