Got my Vin # Finally Order 10/13/08

Got a call from my dealer and he gave me my vin# 7859. Ever since I sent them this letter they have been call be ever week with an update. Great bunch of guys at this Chevy delaership.

Dear Mr. ? ,

I appreciate your e-mail and look forward to speaking with you on May 6th at the unveiling of the 2010 Camaro. I have worked with a few of your employees in my “First Time” Pre-Order Process. Currently ? and ? are handling my Pre-Order purchase of my 2010 Camaro and are great to work with.

As this is my first ever vehicle Pre-Order purchase and of a Camaro that I have always wanted I would like to archive every moment of this car and its process.

As your customer purchasing my new Camaro. I RESPECTFULLY request that you do the following to help me with my requests:

1) Provide dates for every event code from GM for the build process of my Camaro.

1100, Preliminary order accepted - 10/13/08
2000, Order accepted by GM - 4/7/09
2500, Order preferenced - ??
3000, Order accepted by production control - ??
3100, Order available to sequence - ??
3300, Order scheduled for production - 4/23/09 ??
3400, Order broadcast - 4/30/09
3800, Order produced -
4000, Available to ship
4150, Original invoice to the dealer
4200, Shipped by the plant
4800, Bayed with the carrier
5000, Delivered to the dealer
6000, Delivered to the customer -

2) Upon the arrival of my Camaro to your dealership, you notify me immediately as I would like to take picture and document it coming off the transport truck.

3) Please DO NOT Prep my car until I request so.

4) DO NOT remove any of the plastic from the interior carpets, steering wheel, seats, exterior, etc.

PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE WINDOW STICKER OR FOLD ANY DOCUMENTS.

5) LEAVE the carpets in the back of the trunk with the car's build sheet intact on the bag. I would like to have the Build sheet.

6) I request that you DO NOT place a dealership sticker or dealer emblem on my new car. NO stickers or markers on the car or owners manual. Rear plate frame is okay, but nothing else.

7) DO NOT drill / install the front license plate holder.

I'm sure at this point you may be thinking these are very strange requests, but they are VERY IMPORTANT in the ARCHIVING OF A VEHILCE, as done by car enthusiasts around the world! I promise not to delay your pre-delivery inspection more than required for me to fulfill the above mentioned.

If you could pass this information along to the appropriate managers I would really appreciate it as well as send me a response to my request.

As your customer, I appreciate your help in delivering the car the way I’d like! I will gladly give you a good CSI score after delivery!!!

Hey,

My order was also broadcast on 04/30 according to my dealer, maybe my car is being built at this very moment. Hopefully will have a vin# soon as well. Oh and congrats, you are likely just a couple of weeks away!

the reason I ask is because I was told there was some correlation between order number and the vin on our cars.
