Any Dyno results for SLP or New Era intake tube?
Has anyone done any before & after dyno runs of either the SLP "Blackwing" or New Era tubes that uses the stock airbox?
Kind of curious how it stacks up with the intake kits that consist of the tube AND airbox. Seems to me that the stock box does just as well (or even better) at sealing out hot engine air as most of the aftermarket ones. I also noticed that a lot of them still use the stock "scoop" to rout air to the box. I can't see paying all that extra money for an aftermarket filter & airbox if just a smooth tube will get similar gains.

I like them, I really like the SLP..The stock box is very good (Contrary to what u hear on this site) and will keep ambients lower than some cold air kits we've tested. The tube that SLP sells is nice, its a smooth plastic and from what we've seen dissapates heat quicker than aluminum.
I really like the Halltech for max power.. Its a well thought out unit. JMHO |

I have the New Era intake tube, but have not been near a dyno yet.

You mean the CAI that snakes down in front of the wheel well and not just the replacement tube that goes from the MAF to the stock box right?

Maybe it was just the pic that someone posted but that Blackwing doesn't look esthetically pleasing.

The New Era is polished aluminum and looks good. Plus it is less than half the price of the SLP.

The SLP is a good unit...
Metal piping is okay but I agree, the plastic piping is better for quicker heat loss..
