Returning to the Camaro fold

Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself, and celebrate my return to being the proud owner of a Camaro! My first was a '97 Z28, however following an unfortunate incident involving a hit and run in '04, I was forced to drive an '02 Mustang until recently due to time pressure to get a new vehicle and the limited availability of Camaros at the time.

Well I've been keeping my eyes open for the right deal, and when I found a 45th anniversary SS, I couldn't resist. I brought her home this morning, and *wow* I miss these cars

I've been lurking on these forums for quite a while researching, but I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself. I've got some basic plans for the future as far as mods (the usual bolt-ons, Exhaust, CAI, tune), but following that I have no idea where this will end up.

I'll get some better pictures when I can, but for now this will have to do:

Auto, though that was by far the hardest decision. I've driven only sticks for as long as I can remember, and I was really torn over the decision to go with an auto. Apparently the LS3s are pretty hard to find unless ordering new (at least from what I've seen), and a new 2SS/RS was outside my budget.

We'll see how it goes, but so far I'm managing using the paddles. Sort of the automotive equivalent of methadone I suppose.

I'm actually pretty impressed with the aggressiveness of the shifts, and I have to admit the consistency of an auto and the ability to put it in D and not worry about it in Houston traffic is quite appealing as well Once I get an AFM delete I think I may just have to rethink my opinions on the superiority of sticks.

Chris, CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
