MS-8 set up question

ok front speakers are hertz 165 XL components. tweeters and mid speaker are going through the cross over supplied. rear speakers polk mm 691 6x9 also using the suplied crossover that came with them. on the set up menu on the ms-8 it says one way 2 way and 3 way. one way if full range and 2 way are a mid driver and tweeter. how would i set this up on my front channels? I assumed 1 way becouse the mid and tweet are seperate. but they do both get their power from the cross over. ??? the rear only have a one way or full range option but to be sure ????..

then the book talks about hertz for the front speakers has a recomended setting of 50hz through 10,000khz. and the rear sugest 100hz

Your front are 1 way because you used the crossover.

ok next question. The MS-8 did not like the 2 way setup i put in it and now no longer has any output. Im going to give it up for a wile and try again later. I hope i did not mess this thing up??? the speakers came on and i got to the check your work part. I turned up the volume some and it just quit . the power light and everything is still on and it acts as if nothing is wrong with it, but no output. i reset it and started over from scratch. the speaker came on but at a much lower volume and then it cut right off.. i was in the same mode check your work...

So you're running head unit to your MS-8 via ******** FARK harness via RCA's, correct?

Head unit -> FARK harness -> RCA cables -> MS-8 -> RCA cables -> JL Amplifier?

no I dont have the ******** harness. I used the wiring diagram and wired in a 4 outputs or RCA jacks... im using channel 1 and 2 on the MS-8 fed from the factory radio.

LOL! I'll make ya a good deal on Rockford Fosgate T1D215 with a ******** box if you want to come get it. Shipping would probably cost ya more than gas.

Glad everything is sounding good for you man!

lol,, I bet your right about that. My brother inlaw has one of them. that thing weighs a ton.. he had to laminate 2 pices of one in MDF together to get 2 in thick. with bracing and 4 in screws he kept blowig his box apart... he used gorilla glue I dont remember the exact fosgate amp, but if i remember right it was 1200 bucks and like 2000 rms..
not sure.........

Are you getting a shutdown pop with your MS-8?

I am, and nothing I have done to try and stop it has been successful. I'm really considering pulling the MS-8 out of my system, since my HD900.5 never popped.

The head unit is the cause of the pop. There are only 3 ways that I know of that can get rid of it.
1. Use the cigarette lighter as your remote turn-on - I have not tried this, but I hear this works.....
2. Replace your stock head unit with an aftermarket unit.
3. Use a Metra trigger for your remote.

Since both of you guys have it, do you have your JL amps using the same remote turn-on as the MS-8, or do you have the MS-8 controlling the remotes for the amps?
