I just installed the Defenderworx (brushed) door. Easy to install, although it does require modifications to the door hinge and piston that make it hard to go back to the factory door without ordering these parts. Anyway, I don't like the way it looks on Cyber Gray - the door is just too big. Thinking about getting it painted same color as car.

Years ago someone put a tampon in the gas tank of my car and it melted and clogged the fuel pump. Not cool.

Are you freaking serious! So I'm guessing you have a locking gas cap...

Don't buy that stupid door, it looks retarded in any color. The locking gas cap is tits. The link is in one of the earlier posts.

The lid closes fine.

The 11504 is packaged different than the 10504, but Stant says it is the same part.
I just ordered one. I will report back to you, folks.

Had a guy at work the other day had to replace his tank for that very reason on his Toyota, >$600.00 and hear a lot of the same on the news.

I guess I'd rather have them siphon the gas from my tank rather than wake up and discover someone put a hole in my tank and needs replaced...as well as the gas. I know that is what insurance is for, but your still out your deductible which is still much more than 5 or 10 gallons of gas.
I had a friend that had maple syrup poured into his new 08 Avalanche with 8000 miles. Had to replace the engine and it was not covered under the warranty. For this reason alone I want a locking gas cap!

This one I take it? I may just have to order this one. Has anyone else tried this yet? Sorry for reviving such an old thread but this might save some people a whole wack of cash to protect their gas lines!

I bought and put the 10504 on my V6. So far so good. No check engine lights or bad sounds. I'll alert everyone if things go wrong.

Note that the installed clip on the locking housing causes the door to stick up a bit so the left side of the door will not be flush - its a slightly uneven but still looks great.

I took one of the keys and put it on a lanyard placing this in the driver door storage to grab easily and the other on my key ring.

I recommend NOT giving the key to the gas station attendant but doing it yourself so they don't scratch the door or force the key.

Vigilance comes at a price of doing the above to keep your ride safe from door/gas thieves and uncaring gas jockeys.
Where do they still have gas station attendants????WTF

Can't pump your own gas in NJ. Attendant has to operate the pump.

I second this.........works perfectly fine for me. I just grab a paper towel from the dispenser when I remove the cap and settle it in there, so the car doesn't get fuel on it.

I third this:-). The Stant 10504 fits nicely on my LS...does what it is supposed to do. It was about $12 on Amazon.
