19" 2LT wheels/tires on a 2LT RS

Has this been definitively answered yet? Can I retrofit my 2LT RS with the 19" 2LT wheels and tires without any issues or wear problems? I KNOW they will physically fit (has been reported here), but are there going to be any problems or additional wear (tire and/or bearing) doing so?

I have ordered a 2LT/RS because I wanted the HIDs and spoiler. I DON'T, however, want the 20" wheels and tires. I want the lighter 19s, the all-season tires AND the ability to rotate them (front to back).

Thanks for any confirmed data!

Should be fine... Even tho all the factory wheels vary in width up to 2 inches, the offsets only vary max. 5mm (less than 1/4 inch).

I think your driving habits/tire pressure will affect wear more than offset in your case.

I don't think you're setup would affect bearing load nearly as much as the guys putting 12" rubber in the rear.

If the circumference of the tires is different it will mess up the spedometer.

I don't see what the problem would be. The overall tire/wheel combo diameter is supposed to be the same on all Camaro's, to maintain a similar look. Same suspension on all V6 cars.

The question is not about diameter. It is about fitment inside the wheel well and offset. Somewhere on this board there is posted a rumor that RS LTs get the same spindles and/or rear axle flanges as the SS which MIGHT make the 19's fit "wrong" or cause excessive bearing wear. Or maybe they sit wrong in the wheel well because they are narrower in the rear. I just want to know if there was ABSOLUTE DATA on this yet or if it was just speculation.

V6 with RS gets SS hubs.

This has been covered for months.

Great! Now what does that mean for my question about putting the 19" wheels on my car?

Dude, the dealership will ofcourse have someone order the 2LT without an RS or even a 1SS. Tell them if they can ask someone to do an even trade. I know some people that would love to trade their 19'' for your 20's. There are probably people on this forum from your area, post a thread and see if someone will trade you.
