Anyone order Rally Yellow w/ Ground Effects and getting them painted? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I can't decide ground effects or not but If I get them I definately want them painted the same color. Has anyone on this forum ordered this combo and if so when do you expect your car. I am looking for some real life multiple angle photos of yellow car with yellow effects installed so i can try and do some comparison.

I ordered the GFX but have chosen to keep them black. I saw it at a show with yellow and like the contrast.

Yeah I knew you ordered the kit, I don't mind the front piece in dark color but to me the back and sides just don't look right especially the side skirts. You know its greyish color and not actually black right? It's called dark argent mettalic. I think the kit looks ok non color matched but looks 1000 times better color matched. Below is a pic showing the area that bothers me the most.

I think color matching really cleans the sides up like here.

Well I really like the non painted front and painted sides and rear I assume is also painted

I have used Red Nolan Cadillac body shop in Colorado Springs before and they do awesome work. Good place for picky people like me. I took my GFX to them, still in the box of course and asked them to give me a quote to match my RJT color. They said that I would be very dissapointed in the out come. Even though they would use the identical paint as on the car it still won't match because the car is metal and the kit is plastic. It does say on the kit instructions, from GM, "Not reccommended for paint match". The body shop also said that the paint wouldn't last as long no matter what prep procedure they used because of the type of material the kit is. This is just some info to throw out there at everyone just in case. Who knows, maybe it could affect the warranty of the GFX if it were painted. I decided against painting mine just because of what the quality of the outcome would be.
