West Coast: Here I Come! Anybody Want a Calendar?
I'm heading to the west coast next week!
I'll be in San Diego Monday night (the 28th) through Wednesday or Thursday, then up 101 to the San Francisco area until Sunday, then up 101 all the way to the top of Oregon! I looked, and it doesn't look like there are any activities going on then, but if I missed some, let me know! Can anybody recommend some sweet cruise routes for a good drive (other than the 101)? Also, if anybody wants one of my 2010 page a day Camaro calendars, let me know. I have a bunch left, and need to sell them, so I'll sell them cheaper than they cost me, $20, or even best offer! And since I'll be there, no shipping cost! They are full color, a different picture every week day of the year, one per weekend. They have all major US and Canada holidays, are made for your desk, or shelf, or tool box, or wherever you want... but best of all, it features nothing but people's 2010 Camaro's! Here's a picture of mine on top of my tool box at work:

Are you coming in via the 8, 15, or 10?
If you can take the 78 into San Diego. Great drive. You should be able to get onto the 78 at the 10. I've done that before. You'll drive right past the imperial sand dunes, and the Salton Sea. |

That sounds pretty cool, but I'll be coming in on 15, from Vegas. Unless there's another way thats not too slow, from Vegas that leads to that...
I'm planning something along the lines of this: http://www.mapquest.com/mq/2-dpzbQgmg3FNv90BK81k8

When you get to Lincoln City, Oregon, you might consider a side trip to the northeast on highway 18. It goes through the "Van Duzer Corridor" which is one of the most beautiful forests you'll ever see. If you go as far as McMinnville you can visit the air museum where the Spruce Goose is on display - along with a fabulous collection of other vintage aircraft.
You can keep going on Hiway 99W towards Portland and then loop back to the northwest on hiway 26 which takes you back to 101 at Seaside. It's some beautiful country up here that I think you'll enjoy. Hope you enjoy your trip and stay safe!

Sweet, I'll have to do check that out, sounds pretty cool!
How does that air museum compare to Tillamook's?
