Right now, Becker Trailers has another trailer equipped exactly like mine listed on their website for $18,795. In case you are wondering, I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I'm just a delighted customer.

I believe you can get the same basic trailer for considerably less money with lighter rated axles, a steel frame and no cabinets.

When I first started looking I was seriously considering trailers that cost less than $10k new. I am confident that All those trailers can definitely get the basic job of transporting my car done.

My migration to a more expensive option started when I measured the width of my car and then parked it next to a wall at a distance that simulated it being in a trailer. I wanted to see if I could get in and out of the window. While I could, that "exercise" convinced me I wanted an escape door that would allow me to open my car door to get in and out.

I also looked at a lot of very nice used trailers. In the end, knowing how particular I am about things I own, I decided to bite the bullet and bought new.

It's all about trade offs. I ended up with a trailer I am happy with for my specific needs.

This is just a thought to consider. Some rental companies do rent 2500 series trucks with camper mirrors and trailer brake control. Enterprise for instance, rents diesel 2500 series pickup trucks for $60 a day with 100 free miles per day. If your towing is going to be infrequent, that might be a better option vs. owning and maintaining one.

The companies that are willing to rent enclosed trailers on the other hand are far and few between. Trailers are a lot less expensive than 2500 series trucks.

Like I said, just a thought.

I agree. A well placed escape door is the ticket.

Only problem with mine I didn't order it wide enough so I have to slip it in on its side
Tire rack on the roof not a good idea either.

2007 1500 5.3 on a 2013 Mission Trailer. Got a smoking deal on the trailer. $1200! Excuse the dirty truck, just got off work and last minute track visit. I tow mine in case I blow up the clutch at the track. The truck still tows well with 160k miles of abuse. Love that truck. Decided to buy the ZL1 and keep the truck instead of a new truck. Best decision ever.

I like to be able to see my car on the trailer, I like people giving me a thumbs up as they pass me. If I was gonna go enclosed I would get the trailer that Trackman has, I've spent time in it & that thing is awesome!

What dimension are your trailers? Can a guy get by with a 7x18 open? Measurements on the width seem a bit narrow according to measurements on wiki.

Nice set up Tom! Very clever approach. I also like the safety cone idea. That is smart. I need to get some of those too.

Driving to the track isnt an issue for me....driving to Camaro5 fest and running that much time off my tires is....Also isnt the concept of the Z/28 to be a track car that you can drive to the track?

When you break at the track you will see the value of a trailer.
