Honestly it just needs to be correct. You will hurt part's with a poor tune no matter which way it is. We make a point saying rich is not safe because people think "rich is safe" and run the cars too rich and make low power and still hurt things.

Im running tr6 plugs. Can you be more specific why they're not good for nitrous. What kind(brand name) are these br7ef?

Thanks, j-rod.

The TR6 is a projected plug vs the BR7EF which is non-projected. Also the BR7 is a step colder than the TR6. You can get the B6EFS for small shots that are the same heat range as the TR6.

I have been running the TR6's on the 100 shot only because I already had them but will soon be switching to the BR7EF for the 100-150 shot.

Spot on.

Projected tip plugs are easier to detonate with and make the tuning window smaller.

I"ll be running 150 to 200 shot. I would like to run a plug that will be compatible with the n2o but also will run perfectly fine without nitrous as it wont be used very often................I think

I was recommended TR6 to run for both even though I would change them before each track event to be safe. After all they're only 12 bucks for a set and take 10 min to change out

I would never spray a car with tr6's in it.

A br7ef will work for those shot ranges and work perfectly fine on the street.

Well thanks for the info! I've always used TR6's in my nitrous cars but if the others are safer then I'll def change them out

Thanks, j-rod

No problem man. Spark plugs are an easy way to make it safe.

Graham,

a friend of mine owns the SS and is aiming for Nitrous kit. He is LS3 is already cammed, with LTs, Cat back and CAI equiped.

He needs to know whether the stock connecting rod and engine pistons can handle the gas or not?

If no, do you have any suggested upgrades for those parts?

They can certianly handle nitrous. If he is looking for a good reliable street car where the tuning is still pretty simple, a 150hp is good size shot for the stock bottom end.

Now better bottom end parts are definitely a good upgrade when the time comes but he can start spraying with the stock bottom end if he is not ready to build a motor.

I run the BR7EF all the time with a 200 shot. Great plug. I'll probably have to drop another range colder once the direct port kit goes on.

Have you sprayed it with the added timing? Any power added?
