Gears are in the works. Can't say where or who but it will be in several months I am told. It will be great to have some gear choices. Gears and Torque Converter would be a great pair of tweeks for the L-99 auto trannies. Much to think about.

With a 6-speed I would go with at least 3.90 and maybe 4.10 depending on LS3 or L99. Search the treads this has already been discussed pretty heavily. Going from 3.54 to 3.73 you won't notice much difference and it will probably be a waste of your money. Be aware that going with a lower gear will cost you a little gas mileage but probably not that much unless you get crazy with 4.88 or 5.13. This is because when you put it in any gear you'll be turning higher RPMs to go the same speed. Ex: in 6th gear instead of turning say 1800 RPM at 70 mph you'll be turning more like 2100 if you had 3.90 in LS3 (those aren't exact numbers - just an example). Stepping up to say 3.90 or 4.10 will give you a big seat of the pants difference. In my '69 it came with 3.08 from the factory and I went to 3.73 and it was like flipping a switch on my car. Day and Night difference. However, cruising on the highway was not nearly as easy (which is one of the reasons it now has a 5-speed ). I'm personally going to go with 3.90 in an LS3 when I get mine. I think that will be a good compromise. You should defineately feel it but not kill your highway/mpg.

anyone have any ideas how much 3.93, 4.11, and 4.56's are gonna afect the top end on the highway though?
The big thing is shorter gears will affect RPM on the highway and higher rpm will affect the milage, kind of a juggling act. |

Amen, my L99 could really benefit from some 3.50's, or I suppose like rayhawk suggest, I could just put some reasonable diameter tires on the car.

Only problem with smaller tires is it just won't look right, gears would be much better

ls3 6 speed come with 3.45 l99 6speed auto come with 3.27. why we can't get the gears from the gxp 6speed stick it has 3.70 gears. is because they are not making the car anymore.
