has anybody changed the v6 brakes to the SS brakes?

I have searched the forum for the last hour or so and don't seem to be able to find the answer.

Do the standard brakes from v8 camaro fit on the v6 camaro? Has anyone done it? And if so, what extra parts are needed if any at all? Thank you for your help.

YES I will be adding the Brembos to my 2LT/RS car in a few weeks just waiting for them to arrive. Depending on what you get but you will need the rotors, calipers, and some have said you cannot use the stock brake lines on the V6 as they are too short I shall find out soon.

any idea if the existing v6 caliper mounting brackets will work? Or do I have to order/fabricate the v8 ones. I am still a few weeks away from installation as I am waiting for the stainless brake lines from Goodridge. Thanks for your help

Well my new Brake kit has shipped I will let you know. I am upgrading to SS brake lines too so I will check and make sure. If I need new SS ones for my Brakes I will make sure I publish. I will be doing a DIY project on changing them with pictures and steps alone the way. Just need the time off work now........lol

i have all the main components; calipers, rotors, waiting for stainless brake lines from goodridge (shipping date pushed back to 1/25/10). Just wondering if the mounting brackets are the same, I seem to be getting 2 different answers. Oh well, if needed I am sure the shop will be able to fabricate the new brackets.

if anyone has already completed this swap/ or is in the process of doing so I would like to hear your input.

Thanks

Bearing hubs and Knuckles are the same front and rear.Hoses are different at all four corners .You will aslo need the rear brake splash shield for the rears.Caliper mountings are the same.

A parts list with part numbers and sources would be excellent

thanks guys - I'm following your progress on this as I'm considering swapping out the stock V6 brakes for the Brembos or another manufacturer.

In my case, I bought a take off set from fesler built (complete: caliper, pads (<250 miles), rotors and stock brake lines) for $500 plus shipping. I ordered stainless steel brake lines from tirerack ($164 plus shipping), they should ship on the 25th. That's all I have. Shop will modify the brake splash shield in the rear.

My Brembo brake package arrived today I hope to install it next weekend.

A complete set of Brembo's for the Camaro from a 2010 SS under 50 miles on these (calipers, pads, brake lines, and rotors).

Hope to install them next weekend

Sean,

let me know how the install goes. I am still about 2 weeks away from install. Have all the parts except for the stainless brake lines (should have them in a week or so). Just want to give the shop a heads up if any fab work needs to be done. Thanks.
