New Camaro tires kinda puny looking?

I was just wondering if anyone else thinks that the tires on this bad boy just dont look as beefy as they should?? I was just looking at some GT500 pics and those tires looked beefy, but when I look at the Camaro SS pics they just seem like they should be wider?? Anyone else think this? Either way I still will be getting one!!!!!

Hm havent really noticed probably because the thinner tires will be easier to drive through snow if you want wider walls i guess get em after O_o

Nah I dont think I would spend the money to get thicker ones, I just love the look of cars with meaty tires -viper, vette But I am not complaining, it is really a PHENOMENAL car!! I cant wait to get in one

What is beefy to you?

From what Im reading The gt500 has 255/45zr18 tires all the way around.
SS will have 245/45zr20 upfront and 275/40zr20 in back. So our front tires are narrower but our rears are wider.

I've been wrestling with this issue also... I know our stock tires are going to wider than the competitions', but 275 just may not cut it for me. The problem is I can't find any all flat black wheels I like better than the stock ones that'll give me the width I want, so I want to powder the stocks, but I'm still stuck with 275's!

I guess I'll just wait to see it up close, if they look OK they problem solved.... if not

The GT500 has 255 front/ 285 rear so the tires are just 10mm wider all around. What gives it the effect of being "beefier" than the Camaro is the smaller rim and taller sidewall. The 245's on 4th gens look a lot wider than the front tires of the SS as well as the 275's on the 4th gen SS compared to 5th gens.

my thoughts exactly. the tire size in relation to its wheel diameter contributes to the "beefy" effect.

To the tire people... could you squeeze 285's onto 9.5 inch wheels? Every little bit helps!

You could easily get 285s on a 9.5 but finding that tire might be hard (I, admittedly, haven't looked).

Personally, I like the rear tires to fill the wheelwells pretty much fully. I've run 315 and 335s on my 4th. Gens. and just think it helps the proportions when you look from the back of the car. I hope the wheelhouses of the 5th. Gen. will accept close to a 3XX-series tire but will make due. Preferrably, I'd like to run ZR1 wheels, front a rear, and go with at least a 315 or the 325 that comes on the ZR1. The price of the tires is what worries me though...
