If you are going to cam it. I would consider doing the ls3 conversion as well. Vvt cam. Bleh...

If you are asking how hard the install is, you really need to talk with some of the Forum Sponsors about a cam install. They will ask lots of questions about your driving habits, then make a suggestion for a cam, heads, torque convetor. A lot of different things go into making the correct cam decision and it is different for most people.
Being in Florida, you should have no problem finding a good shop to do this mod. |

You have a ton of excellent shops at your disposal between Tampa / Miami. I would not do this install alone unless you have a set up similar to a shop in your garage.
You have the option between a VVT cam (I would still recommend deleting your AFM/DOD even with a VVT) or going the route of an LS3 conversion. The conversion is very expensive, but seems to be a tried method that is reliable... every conversion I have seen AFTER install and tune pushes close to 4k. I haven't seen any reported failures from a VVT cam except where the install wasn't too blame... The VVT cams seem to be newer technology, and many installers here in Orlando do not want to deal with the tune portion of it. VVT is much cheaper and can produce very, VERY GOOD numbers.

Paul there are a lot of variable to consider when installing a cam. Luckily for you there are a lot of vendors here that can point you in the right direction. Feel free to give me a call and I'll be happy to help you out or design a cam for you.
