Corvette Forum C7 vs Z28 Thread
I happened on this thread in the Corvette Forum. Lot's of Z28 supporters and plenty others who are more than a little afraid the Z28 will be faster than the new C7. So, what do you all think? Here's the thread:

Depends solely on a z51 package imo.
An honestly, I still hope the c7 loses. Edit: does anybody know where they found this only 500 z/28's will be made thing. never saw that anywhere. Maybe I'm just blind. I've asked them twice in two different threads, and I received no response... |

My prediction is that the Z/28 will log a slightly faster lap time than the C7 Z51. However, I think it will be because the Z/28 has stickier R comp tires, whereas the C7 Z51 will have MPSS tires. If you put R comps on the C7, it would probably be faster.
Unfortunately, because the 2 cars come from the factory with different class tires, magazine comparison will not really be apples to apples. |

It's not an apples to apples comparison since the Z/28 is intended for the track whereas the Stingray is a street car. A true comparison would be the performance edition "Vette Z06-07 whatever they call it, if they make it. The base Stingray could cost less than the Z/28 too, which takes away some of the sting if it is indeed marginally faster.

the Z/28 will be faster. If the predictions are correct that this is the most expensive Camaro (outside the COPO) then it will cost more than a C7 with the Z51.
At that point it better be faster. This is the GM hotrod for MY 2014 and probably 2015. Gotta sell those highly profitable cars. |
