* The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302C) is a federal law which regulates warranties for the protection of consumers. The essence of the law concerning aftermarket auto parts is that a vehicle manufacturer may not condition a written or implied warranty on the consumers using parts or services which are identified by brand, trade, or corporate name (such as the vehicle maker's brand) unless the parts or service are provided free of charge. The law means that the use of an aftermarket part alone is not cause for denying the warranty. However, the law's protection does not extend to aftermarket parts in situations where such parts actually caused the damage being claimed under the warranty. |

If you think that GMPP are better than others then you are out of your mind. They are mediocre at best.

I would point out that your dealer is an idiot, but in this case it's more accurate to simply say that your dealer is a lying thief.

Here's an example: if a guy puts 24 inch wheels on (any given vehicle) that was not intended to have 24 inch wheels and the vehicle developes a problem with the front hubs because of the wheels, they would not be covered under the warranty. BUT if a guy put a Corsa Exhaust on a vehicle and it developed a problem with the front hubs, they would be covered because the exhaust had nothing to do with the hub going bad. Pretty simple, huh?! If you are in doubt, talk to the guy who handles all warranty issues at your dealership... Your GM Service Manager, he should be able to answer all of your questions. If not, get me his name and I'll have my cousin Vinny go talk to him! Most of these guys are pretty much car nuts and love to talk about stuff like that. Plus if you get to know them they'll be more likely to help you out in a pinch.
