yeah, IS-F is a bit quicker but the difference can be made up with a couple bolt-ons, or a mistake on his part (assuming you have a perfect run)

Must be the shorter gearing or something - they put out 417 HP and 371 LB-FT. They also have skinnier 255's out back........but then again there is that 8-speed transmission.
What would it take for an L99 to gain the edge? Im thinking full exhaust, intake, tune......should that suffice? |

Don't Like it? Suggit.

I've driven both, obviously both very fast... IS-F takes off quick and gets up to speed fast, but you'll never use that 8th gear. Camaro has a better seat-of-the-pants thrill when you accelerate- not sure why as the IS-F has 16hp over the L99.
I liked the IS-F alot. It feels taught and fast, and even sounds respectable, but Camaro feels faster and sounds better Even if I wasn't a Camaro fan, it would still be the Camaro every time. Same power, twice the soul, half the price. And that's my impartial opinion.

I just looked at Lexus's website and their own claim is 0-60 in 4.6, 1/4 in 13.0 ... same as what GM gives for the Camaro.
It weighs a bit less (~150 lbs), and it does have a bit more aggressive gearing. But it also has less torque and skinnier tires. My gut tells me those factors should essentially cancel out. It also looks like the tranny is a dual clutch auto, that might account for its edge over the Camaro.

But, if you guys were to race 100 straight times, all things being equal, I think he beats you 75 of them. Just put a few simple bolt-ons and you turn those tides. |

the isf is significantly faster on the top-end over the l99, drivers race with the ls3, and somewhat of a drivers race with an l99 up to triple digits.
