Newbie - Looking to buy 2SS or 1LE

Hey all,

Finishing up here in Afghanistan and will shortly thereafter be going to be in the UK. I am starting to look for a 5th Gen. I would like to buy a low mileage 5th gen making about 450 or so (some add on's) or maybe a 1LE or maybe even a power adder car that could be used for a daily driver... I would like to stay below $30K but would consider going higher for the right car. Must be a 6-speed though....I am looking to buy in about 2 months.

Full disclosure - I have been a turbo mustang guy for a while (400+CI 88mm turbo) but love and have owned GM's in the past. I will not be taking my mustang to the UK. Want a good daily driver with some road course time (Brits have three tracks close to where I will be). I am not taken with the new mustang and have been wanting a 5th gen Camaro for a while. I have two kids I will be taking with me so now vette (although that sure would be fun on track day).

If you don't want to talk in the forum you cat hit me up at dangollan@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Dan

The SS is rated at 426 HP for the LS3(manual) and 400 HP for the L99 (auto), but this is crank HP.
if you want real world 450 HP you need a cam.
I have every bolt on mod you can get, and with the right tune I am still only pushing around 410 RWHP.

I also have heard of a shop in Georgia. I cant really remember its name, but it was somehing like Lethal or Evil motorsports.
Good luck, and thank you for your service, and Happy Veteran's Day
There are plenty of places that can do a good cam swap and tune.
Ted jannetty at Jannettyracing.com is one of the best, he is in Conecticut.

Here's the one for you...

I bought this car at GM Employee pricing last year. I am willing to let her go for a reasonable offer. The car has been babied her whole life and has never even done a burnout. Pirelli's look brand new. No rain and always under here own cover in a garage.

You're not gonna find a 1le for anywhere close to under 30k. But you can find a nicely built ss. I was looking for a similiar car as you are describing. There were several supercharged ss's on here that went for 29-30k. Good luck.

I bet you could find a 1le for 33-35, but its gonna be closer to stock.

I know I won't find a 1LE for for under 30K - but I would go higher for the right car...

If I found an SS with a 3:91 or 4:11 rear, I would take that over a 1LE....

My buddy has a 2010 SS that's pretty built and will let it go well below your budget.
Cammed slammed and a lot of fun to drive

I am about to list my 2013 1SS 1LE Inferno Orange Metallic. I bought it around 7 months ago and we are now building a house that I will be contracting so I need a truck. If you are interested, send me a PM and I will get some pics together to send you. It has been garage kept and I just hit 1,800 miles. I am looking to get around $32K for it. I owe much more so I would need to do the deal at my local GM dealership where I will be purchasing the truck so I can roll in the negative and get the tax credit towards the truck.

I modifications I have done are:
Window tint, Borla S-Type axleback exhaust, added Katzkin black leather/suede inserts with orange stitching, Eiback pro kit springs to level it off, GM OEM inferno orange door and dash inserts, and one or two other minor exterior mods.

Probably too soon for you if you are still deployed. We are clearing land now and preparing to build a house. I need a truck now my dealer has the 2014 GMC's discounted so much that I need to jump on it.

Happy Veterans Day my friend.
