should a bone stock SS be able to do this ???

ok i know im going to catch hell for asking this but this happend to me today in my car.. i had a very clean looking 69 camaro SS behind me today... i gave him the thumbs up and he gave me the same thing back... the next thing i know he is behind me baking them up it was very kool i have to say ... so i thought as i was sitting there at the light that i would shut down all the electronics and leave a nice smoke show as i pulled out of the light.... well it didnt go as well as i thought it would have... i let the car roll forwards just a few inches and matted it in first... well i took off pretty good but no tire spin . so should my new SS be able to bake them up from a dead stop( with no brake) be able to smoke them up?? not sure if this matters but i do have the 21" wheels on it but really dont think that should matter.. thanks guys for all your help.

If you're and LS3 you have to press and hold for 9 seconds the traction control button. If you are a L99, Sport Mode

sticky tires, torque management, car not broke in yet.... sort of hard to do a stand-still burnout in a stick unless you're good at the heel/toe thing (or is the car an automatic)

If you have an A6 you need to turn off traction control and put it in sport mode. Even so, with the tires that are on it, its harder to really light up the tires without using the brake.

You may have spun the tires but depending on the surface your tires may not have smoked. I have left large black tire marks and no smoke before. Did you notice whether or not your tach rose or black marks on the street?

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

Press & hold for 7 seconds or so, then 3500-4500 RPM, and dump the clutch in first. I've never tried to do one with the brakes on, but the tires will roast quite well.

Heck, when I'm at the track doing bracket racing, I find it hard to find that fine line between a fast start and not breaking loose the tires when trying to slip the clutch a little...

Mine does this all the time from a roll. No smoke or sound, but you can feel the spin and feel the slideways and see the marks ...

Most burnouts I've done were on absolutely dry pavement and left smoke. I did do a burnout a month ago up in a parking lot in the mountains, and it was cold and a little damp. No smoke whatsoever.

First burnout was a rolling one just mashing the throttle and steering left to induce the tires to spin. Second was where I dumped the clutch. Put the traction control back on before I got back onto the highway though.
